Mona has been a part of the Pontchartrain family since 1993. Originally from Baton Rouge, she graduated as Valedictorian of Central High School in 1978. She then attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, where she graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor of Science degree, having majored in Accounting and minored in Business Administration. She is a member of the Veterinary Hospital Manager's Association and the American Animal Hospital Association.

Mona, an avid ALABAMA Crimson Tide fan, has been married since 1982 to Durwin, a diehard LSU fan. They have a son, Zach, who is a senior at Southeastern Louisiana University. Their pets include two rescue dogs, Lucy (who acts as though she's half calico cat and half dachshund) and Rita (a chocolate beagle). They also have a guinea pig, a quaker parrot, and 6 lovebirds.  Mona's love of number-crunching and her compassion for animals makes PAH the perfect place for her to be!
